Rating – 4/5 stars

Judge the Cover – The first cover was okay, but this one is amazing! It helps bring the gothic tale to life more. Jessamine is beautiful, but everything else is creepy which makes it haunting.

Selecting – I received this from Netgalley. Just recently, Emilia received an ARC copy of this and is reading it now. She’s in love with the story also. We are also celebrating the book release this week on the blog! If you haven't noticed...

Review – If you have not read the first book, you must be prepared for some BIG SPOILERS. This book takes after The Poison Diaries.

SPOILERS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Okay, from the first book, I was hitched. The ending of that one made me so mad and brokenhearted. I did not want Weed to leave. And poor Jessamine! Not only did her love Weed leave, she is stuck with a father that poisoned her to gain Weed’s knowledge of plants. Weed didn’t have a choice though. Oleander, the Prince of Poisons, will only help Weed heal Jessamine, but only if he leaves afterwards.

So, not only is Jessamine is in pain, but Weed is also in pain. They need to be together!

In this book, Jessamine knows the truth of what happened because of Oleander. She knows what her father has done to her and many others. When she finds out more dark secrets about her father, she decides to poison him. She asks Oleander to help her find Weed, but she must run first because now she is a murderer. But the more she trusts Oleander, the more she becomes a part of him. She’s still the same girl, but with a poisoned inside. But like every plant, where she can poison, she can also cure.

Weed is searching for her, also. After finding out that she’s in danger, he seeks answers from the plants around him. But Jessamine has changed her looks, and it becomes hard to find her. Weed continues his search for his love. You can’t help but cheer him on!

But are they willing to accept each other for all the things they have done? And will Weed be able to save her from Oleander’s grasps?

In this book, you are still left with these questions. Yes, the ending was hard, but there is still hope. Because of Jessamine’s tale in this one, the story becomes dark. But with Weed’s side of the tale, you are given promises that they will soon be together again.

Can’t wait to read the third book!! I hate that I have to wait a year!

Favorite Character – Jessamine and Weed!! Even though Jessamine did terrible things, there is still good in her. Especially towards the ending!!! Can’t help but love her. And then charming Weed, who never gave up his search for her, I can’t help but love him.

Least Favorite Character – Oleander made even bigger presence in this book, and man, is he evil.

Favorite Part – All I have to say is Chapter 16. The beginning, the middle, and the end of that chapter had me going through so many emotions. I was so shock at the ending of it.

Author or Book NEWS – The series is set to be a trilogy, so the last book has to be the amazing. I am hoping that Weed and Jessamine get to be with each other at last. Ah, I can’t wait a whole year to finish this series!
