Top Ten Tuesday: 2011 Books We Bought Because of The Covers

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme started here at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they have a specific topic for a top ten list. This week is books you bought because of the covers.

Here is our list of 2011 books we bought because of their covers. As you can see, the covers have mostly girls in dresses in it. We giving you reasons for the top 6 but the last 4 well, the covers are really just gorgeous.

1. Cold Kiss by Amy Garvey

This cover in person is way more gorgeous than this picture. The words 'Cold Kiss' are like super shiny and they sparkle. The lips even look better in real life.

If you haven't read this book yet, you should. The cover is breath-taking but the story is will leave you breathless.

2. Wither by Lauren DeStefano

This one is even better person also. The girl hand has a ring on it, because that plays an important part in the story. There is also a caged bird, which is also because the girl is trapped in a marriage and a her husband's home.

3. The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross

This is one of our favorites. The girl is beautiful and her dress is to die for. And what's that peeking out of her dress? Oh right, her steel corset :). Just perfect for a steampunk story. Also, you can see the clogs of a machine in the background which is huge thing to the story.

4. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

This one was not what I expected for the cover. I love it! We have pre-order this because it's not yet released but, we did buy it because of the cover. The girl is covering her hands, because her hands are dangerous. Then, the sparks in the background flying towards us...um AMAZING! This caught our eyes right away.

5. Silence by Becca FitzPatrick

Uh hello, there is a stunning, hot boy carrying a girl with waves crashing in the background. What's not to love. Then, the wings, we just knew this was an epic story. To find out, that this is a third book in a series, and the other covers are even amazing. Can't wait to get in the Hush, Hush saga.

6. A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies

Right away, I knew this was going to be fun book to read because of the cover. The girl looks like she's flying and the title is also builds mystery. The word 'beautiful' is written all pretty but 'dark' is sketchy, and messed up. I love it! I knew the story was going be something epic and breath-taking. And it was!

  1. I've been meaning to pick up Cold Kiss - mostly because whenever the cover is posted I find myself stopping or lingering over it. It's a magnetic cover. And I'm also very much in love with the cover of Shatter Me. It's amazing!

  3. I agree, these are all super gorgeous. The Iron Knight cover is amazing, The Carrier of the Mark is crazy (in a good way), The Girl in the Steel Corset, and Wither just blow the mind. Some covers make it nearly impossible to not buy the book!
