Rating – 4.5/5 stars

Judge the Cover – I think this one is my favorite cover out of the entire series. It used to be The Van Alen Legacy, but this one has a shirtless boy even though you can’t see him.

Selecting – The series, of course.

Review  This whole book revolves around love. And with every great love story, there is also pain, guilt, secrets, and death that always come along with a tragic romance.

If you have not read any of the books in the series, SPOILERS ARE BELOW!

Jack and Schuyler are finally bonded and together. In the beginning, Jack is ready to face his sister Mimi, but Schuyler doesn’t want him to die. Jack stays with her and they continue Schuyler’s search for The Gate of Promise in Alexandria. With coming empty handed on every lead they got, Schuyler discovers she had the wrong city. They have to search for the Gate Keeper in Cairo.

They are not alone. The very person Jack is running away from is also in Cairo. Except Mimi isn’t there to destroy him…yet. She is there to get Kingsley back from Hell. She has brought along Oliver to use him as a sacrifice. She is going to trade Oliver for Kingsley, and Oliver doesn’t know. The paths that leads to Hell are going to be tough and they are going to be tested every single level until they reach the seventh. The only problem is Kingsley might not want to come back.

Mimi isn’t the only one with problems. The world of vampires is becoming dark. Covens are descending underground to protect themselves from Lucifer’s army. Nephilims are roaming around stealing human girls to take to hell, and they are destroying everything of the Covens. Schuyler and Jack are visited by a team of familiar Venators, who are searching for these Nephilims and their purposes.

The future of the world is in the beginning to become a chaotic and dangerous place to live.

But the past isn’t different. The path of love can be chaotic also. You get to see Allegra and why she chose to bond with her human familiar and not Charles Force.

The series have come to a final conclusion with the last book of the series coming out in 2013. The ending of this book was a little heartbreaking because of many sacrifices being made. I don’t think I can wait to 2013, I might go mad.

Favorite Character  In this book, the characters have all grown on me. I couldn’t chose a favorite anymore.

Least Favorite Character – I always knew Forsyth Llewellyn was a traitor.

Favorite Part – The battle between Abbadon and Azrael.

Author or Book NEWS – The Gates of Paradise out in 2013. The spin off series, starting with Wolf Pact, that star Bliss Llewellyn and the Hellhounds, will be out in 2012.

  1. I have really mixed emotions about this series. I have loved it for a long time, and I am sad that it is going to be over soon, but at the same time I am ready for it to be done. I really want to see how it all turns out.
