When Jessica Packwood found out she was a Romanian vampire princess, she had the shock of her teenage life. Turns out that was the easy part.
Now, married to Prince Lucius Vladescu, she has to claim her throne and convince a vampire nation she's fit to be their queen. But Jess can't even order a decent meal from her castle's Romanian staff, let alone deal with devious undead subjects who would love to see her fail.
And when Lucius is accused of murdering a vampire Elder and imprisoned without the blood he needs, Jessica finds herself alone, fighting for both their survivals.
Desperate to clear her husband's name and win his release, Jess enlists the help of her best friend, Mindy Stankowicz, and Lucius's mysterious Italian cousin, Raniero Lovatu. But both of them are keeping some dark secrets. Can Jess figure out who to trust―and how to rise to power―before she loses everything, including the vampire she loves?
Full of romance, mystery, and danger, the highly anticipated sequel to Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side shows that sometimes a princess has to earn her "happily ever after"―with a sharpened stake in hand.

Judge the Cover – This cover is so pretty, and they are wearing their wedding rings! Yay for good cover designing. I still want to see more of Lucius though.
A Little Teaser – After a few minutes of forcing myself to forget about the nightmare, I almost started to drift off to sleep again, when suddenly Lucius muttered, barely whispering, his breath chilly against my neck, “Betrayal.”
I stiffened in his arms. Was he answering my question or caught up in his own dreams? His own nightmares?
Review – I was a little worried about there being too many point of views, but Beth never lets me down. All the characters were great, and not only did I see an improvement in Jessica, Mindy has become one of my favorite characters ever!
In this story, Jessica isn't a high school girl anymore. She's a vampire princess and now goes by Antanasia, and is now married to a very handsome, powerful prince Lucius. They now have to prove to the Elders and rest of the vampires that they are strong enough to rule the kingdom. No one seems to questioned Lucius leadership, but everyone eyes are focused on Antanasia's mistakes. They still see her as an American girl. In this book, you get to see the girl we love Jessica, become the powerful Antanasia. She goes through a lot, and she has a lot to prove. She is one strong character.
I really did miss Lucius in this book. He was accused for a murder he didn't commit, and is locked away. Antanasia misses him so much and struggles because she's not sure how she will make it all on her own. She's not the only one who misses Lucius. We miss him, too!
The other characters in this book were fun to read as well. We have a mysterious beach bum Ranerio who is Lucius's Italian cousin. He's gave up his vampire life because something that happened in his past. I love his accent, and his connection with Mindy, who is the other character point of view. If you remember, Mindy is Jessica's best friend from
. Mindy is one great best friend
and is there for Jessica when she is struggling. She's a person you count on.
But while she is helping out Jessica, she is trying to figure out her feelings
towards Ranerio. Pennsylvania
The wedding was not in this book, but in a separate book. I really sad I missed that one, so I am going back to read it. Even though the wedding wasn't in here, it was great to see what happened to Jessica and Lucius afterwards. I love seen characters grow, and the sequel was amazing! And if there was a third book or another novella, I would want to read. Even if it's about Mindy and Ranerio!
