Red vs Blue Covers Giveaway!

We are loving us some covers but the real reason behind this amazing giveaway is because of one book. Don't you guys just love the cover for CINDER by Marissa Meyer! More on her and the fabulous book later.

So we are separating the cover showdowns so each giveaway can have two weeks for people to enter. I posted about the contest in the latest Seekers Announments, but here are the official rules, guidelines, and all the other things in between.

So information about the giveaway first. We went through some of the covers of January and man, were there some beautiful covers out this month. Emilia felt bad about our December giveaway not going up, and decided to treat you guys with new releases of course. (We are still doing a giveaway like the one for December but not for awhile.) So, below are the books that we are giving for each team.

Edit: We are picking two winners for each Team. When we announce the winners and there will only be two for each giveaway, whoever replys to our email first will get to choose which two books he/she wants from the selection.

  1. I always buy books because of the cover. I can't help it sometimes they just look so pretty on my bookshelf. I find after I read some of them I don't really like them and wasted money buying them.

    thanx 4 the giveaway! Awesome-sauce!

  2. All of these covers are amaaaaazing! I often buy books because of the cover. On the flip side of that, I sometimes hesitate or don't buy a book if the cover is awful or too cheesy.

I love when I'm not disappointed in the story when it's a beautiful cover!

  4. Sad but true, I often buy a book based on the cover. Even more shameful is when I hear bad or mixed reviews about a book but read it anyway based on the cover.

  5. I've done it several times and I have regret it many times. All of these covers are amazing! Thank you for the great giveaway!

  6. All these covers look amazing! Sadly I have bought many books based on the cover. Though I guess that is the point of them, to attract readers. It's unfortunate when the book doesn't live up to your expectations from the cover though. But, I won't not buy a book if it has a cover I don't like, if that makes sense. If the reviews are good and the premise sounds interesting, I still buy.

  7. I always buy based on covers. It's the cover that lures you into picking it up.

  8. I did find some books that didn't have amazing covers but were amazing stories. I buy mostly children books though because of their illustrations.

    Great giveaway love these covers!

  10. Gorgeous covers, but I know what team I'm on! Team Red FTW! I love red. All the covers are gorgeous though.

I have read many books based on gorgeous covers. Most books I read are picked based on if the cover makes it look like it's the kind of book I read. I won't buy books solely based on covers. I'll go read the synopsis and a couple of reviews before buying. A pretty cover always helps though!

  11. Yes, I have bought books because of the cover. One book I remember buying because of the cover is Intertwined by Gena Showalter, and I enjoyed the book very much.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  13. Remember guys Team Red are the first two weeks, and Team Blue are the last two weeks of January. The reason for this is because of Team Blue's books will be closer to release dates. But there's another reason for the teams, but it's a surprise saved for the last week of January.

More people join the bigger the surprise! Thanks for all the comments everyone!

  23. I've never bought a book because of its cover without reading more about it first, but I have gotten books from the library many, MANY times because their covers caught my eye.

  24. It's sad to admit that I do buy books, just based on the cover. I skim over the synopsis, only catching a few words because I'm more focused on the cover itself. Sucks to see that sometimes the book with the gorgeous cover isn't that good of a book after all. :/

  25. i admit it has happened but it's not the reaseon i buy most of my book ( lucky me because with so many books with great covers it would be impossible for me)

    thanks your for the giveaway

  26. I do not normally but some times I pick books up to look at the back because of the cover :)

  27. Only once have I bought a book based solely on its cover. Definitely would not do that ever again.

So generally no. I buy books based on whether they sound like someting I'd like. =)

  28. The cover is usually what draws me in but ultimately it's the description that makes me buy the book. If the description bores me then I don't buy the book.

  29. It's not so much that I'll buy a book for the cover, but I'm often drawn to books because of the cover art and I probably notice them more than otherwise. I'm probably missing out on some great books by not seeing past the cover in bookstores! :)
